The Transitory Breath
A poem capturing the intimate act of dying.
This was my partner, John’s death experience. This poem came to me post meditation; in the quiet of the dawn, as with all of the poems I have written. John’s energy is present when I write them, they flow rapidly. This poem was written on Nov 7, 2021, nearly 3 years after he passed. I have come to trust the synchronicity of signs and confirmation in this, our shared collaboration of writing. Thank you, beautiful soul.
The Transitory Breath
I was not alone ...
When, I consented with peace,
To shed my body ... gracefully,
Enveloped with love.
A releasing graduation ...
The event of my death,
A gentle welcome ...
My transitory final breath.
Quiet relief, that passage ...
Of enduring, abiding light,
Rediscovering the Universe ...
My eternal soul, my home.
