I know it was a labor of love that drove you, but you went well beyond what was ever expected of you and it took its toll --you were exhausted as well as grieving. What you and John shared during that time was something no one else could ever understand, unless they also experienced it. I'm so thankful you have your higher connection with John now. You are a woman of courage, a heroine, and I'm proud to call you 'friend'.

Thanks C.J, yes it was a labour of love and I would do it again ... and again. No, nobody can ever really understand 'how' we experience what is common to our human condition. I never imagined the connection that would be on-going ... always a WOW, every message. Thank you C.J, i sometimes wonder what I am,]. Nevertheless, grateful to have found you here and thank you, proud to be and call you my friend too💜

I am familiar with the "contract" theory. When Mr. J was diagnosed, I remember thinking, "What the hell was I thinking when I wrote that contract?" Thank you for the reminder to meditate. I needed that gentle nudge.

Wow! Your comment to my dream has led me here, Simone! I am grateful and love you already! This post helps clear it up for me… internally with me, even in my dreams. I believe in signs and thank him for all green lights or merging into traffic seamlessly…and now my dream/this piece of yours…gives me greater confidence, assurance and gratitude for carrying on all these years. Not to mention your beautiful way with words, the poetic rhythm of each graph, the poem from your husband’s persoective…wow! 💕 I also feel drawn to you in Oz… my brother lives in NSW… he’s been there since Vietnam..became a citizen and now I’ve lots of nieces, nephews and good friends all over your beautiful country. Much love to you, new friend. Hope I can get to know you better! ❤️🥰🇦🇺

Hi Joan, Fabulous, so pleased the Universe has given us a way to connect. And thank you for your generous words about my writing …. It has been 5 years coming 🤣🤦‍♀️ and as you would know, part of a process. I am grateful to have found this community. Sending love straight back to you 🤗. I live in Victoria which is south of NSW … close enough for us to chat over a coffee if you ever make your way down here to see the family. Have a great day 🙏💜

Me too…this is a very caring and supportive community! Many of us are “widow warriors” and I’ve learned so much. Eleven years, you’d think I’d be well beyond, but as you’ve read… it never goes away. And we never know what will trigger grief. The trees did it for me after a tornado! 🙄🤪🙃 I will definitely let you know… maybe next spring. Never been to Victoria. I usually stay in old town Sydney; ferry around to visit friends in the big fancy condos; then the train to Gosford where my brother picks me up. He’s in Saratoga. I’ve written about my adventures if you’re inclined. 😊

Take care and thank you for subscribing, staying connected, being my friend! 🥰😊❤️

“ How gratitude expands energetically, in its momentum to manifest signs and experiences, renders me speechless … just a WOW, every time.” Beautiful, incredibly moving piece. Thank you for sharing, Simone.

Thank you, Simone, for this valuable advice. I have been struggling to accept that my Dad (as a Soul) has moved on in his Journey--I lost him 7 months ago. I have been longing to feel a connection with him, just to know he is ok and that he can still see us and be with us in Spirit. Perhaps I was trying too hard and trying to perceive with my senses, something that is no longer "limited" to sense perceptions. I am going to try meditation instead, your essay came like an answer to my longing and struggle. I am very grateful, thank you 🙏❤

I am so pleased the writing has given you some comfort. I understand the depth of such loss and send love to you. Your Dad’s energy will be all around you, and will always be because your connection is eternal 💜🙏. I found meditation enabled me to be still, even when my mind wasn’t silent. I found that in the stillness (not always silence) comes other ways the body can sense energy (internally). Be gentle and patient with yourself 💜. Thank you for your kind words and sharing.

Your writing is seeped in wisdom. Yours and beyond. There is a lot that’s touched me here, but I’m inspired to reflect in silence 😊. The poem is beautiful. I hope to come across it again when it beckons. Thank you.

Hi Shaista, Thank you for your kind words. The wisdom that visits me is definitely beyond my scope. I feel the wisdom as truths, a knowing, and have learnt to trust my intuition. Of course, so much is often beyond my grasp, I get enough that can be clarified later. I do believe that the wisdom that guides each of us is at our point of need. Hence, no judgement, no fear ... love and trust 💜.

Thanks for sharing such a vulnerable and inspiring story, Simone! I especially loved how you described gratitude as a "way of being" that opens a "portal to the loving realm." It shows that positive emotions can act as bridges to something beyond ourselves.

Thanks Mo, realising and choosing the depth of gratitude as a disposition has indeed opened the way for me.
